about

Creaking pianos, soft analogue synths, acoustic guitar and yearning strings. Field recordings of birdsong and woodland ambience, fast-flowing brooks and gently meandering streams. The wind in the trees and footsteps on dead leaves. Evening thoughts by firelight. Everything happening at once.

These tracks were inspired by walks in the forests, woodlands and hills of the Peak District, near where I live in Sheffield. I wanted to evoke the sorts of sounds heard and emotions felt when totally immersed in nature.

Connecting with nature in this way has been shown to be massively beneficial for peoples' physical and mental wellbeing. I think it's vitally important that we promote access to green spaces, particularly for underrepresented communities. As such, all sales from this EP will be donated to the Sheffield Environmental Movement - a charity that works with local Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee communities and environmental organisations to ensure everyone has a clean healthy environment and access to open green spaces that promote a good quality of life.
